The Lockdown Journal

I have a new podcast!

It’s called The Lockdown Journal. This is where I talk about what it’s like being an indie creator during the current COVID-19 pandemic. The show will be on a limited run — one hopes this pandemic doesn’t last all year — and will have a new episode every Wednesday.

A few people I know have expressed interest in getting into podcasting. As someone who’s been podcasting on and off for ages, I fully support more Filipinos creating podcasts. However, all my podcasts have been self-hosted, which is not really something I can recommend to anyone who isn’t also a web developer (which I am). So I thought I’d produce a limited-run podcast on Anchor to see if it’s a service I can recommend to new podcasters. From what I’ve seen, the UI looks great and easy to use. It has a lot of great features. And it’s free. So far, it has so much going in its favor.

I’m just about to record episode one, but the podcast trailer is already up. Because it takes a while for a new podcast to get approved on the different podcast platforms like Spotify and iTunes/Apple Podcasts, it’s a great idea to first prepare the trailer and launch your podcast with it. That way, you can wait for your podcast to be available in all the places you want it to be before publishing your first episode.

As I’d just launched the podcast, I don’t have any links to Spotify or Apple Podcasts, but I’ll add those here as soon as they’re ready. In the meantime, you can always just head on over to the podcast page on Anchor.fm — https://anchor.fm/thelockdownjournal.
